Meet some of the team...Darleen...John...Holly...

Darleen K. Hampson:
Born and raised in Indiana, Darleen came to California as Associate Pastor and served  for 18 years in Southern CA.  She used her background in music and theater in worship, choirs, ensembles, full Christmas and Easter productions and in Children's Ministries.  After raising three children of her own (a musician, artist and actor);
Darleen came to the Central Valley to launch a new chapter in her life.

With a BA in Music Education K-12 from Anderson University (Anderson IN), Darleen teaches privately, in public and private schools, churches and community theaters.  Professionally, she spent two summer seasons as a theater director at New York’s Long Lake Camp for the Arts, and worked on set for the producers of Gordon Family Tree the Movie; filmed in Los Angeles/Arkansas.  She recently completed an Art Direction project on the film Beneath the Sand for Brotherhood Pictures (Los Angeles) and is ready to meet her 2014-2015 students!

Darleen is also a performer (actor and singer);  a vocal coach and piano teacher;
a credentialed classroom teacher; does scenic and wardrobe production work
(locally and in SoCA) and is Director/Founder of Creative Components

Training people to work backstage (as an essential part of an artist’s education) became a passion while working with high school students in the 1980’s.  Lots of people have talent on stage – but that is only the start.  Being a truly successful performer means being a part of the team“from the back door of the theater – through the wings – onto the stage – and back to the parking lot – in a professional manner.”  With that philosophy, she has raised three of her own children who shine in their professions – Los Angeles-based musicians, directors, actors and artists!!  Their versatility and attitude is what sets them apart from others in their professions – and Darleen continues to teach from that same perspective.

Area directors she has worked with:
Michael Tackett (1999-2014 20+ shows)
Jennifer McGill (2000-2014)
Katie Talsma (2009-2013)
Leenie Mitchell (1940 Radio Hour, Visalia Ice House)
Lim Forgey (Sound of Music and Cinderella)
Encore Theater (Clue).

Darleen loves your kids and takes great pride in watching them grow and develop
 as people – as artists - in skill, discipline, patience and confidence.
